LAYLA POET works exclusively with natural fibres, with a focus on cotton and organic cotton where possible.

Chosen for breathability, durability and biodegradability, these fibres allow garments to age beautifully and soften with wear. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, supporting healthier soils and a gentler environmental footprint.

These pieces are designed to be worn often and kept for years, rather than defined by seasons.

Craft

Printed garments are produced using a variety of techniques including traditional hand block printing. Designs are carved into wooden blocks and printed by hand, layer by layer, creating subtle variations that reflect the unique human hand behind each piece.

Embroidered techniques and hand-finished details add texture and individuality, embracing the beauty of imperfection.

Ethical Production

LAYLA POET is committed to fair manufacturing and employee treatment throughout our supply chain.

Partnering with SMETA or SEDEX certified factories in India, which is a benchmark for recognised standards for labour, safety and ethical practice.

In Bali, manufacturing sits with a small, family-run factory that has been personally visited by Layla and operates with honesty, fairness and respect for its team.

Small-Scale Approach

LAYLA POET produces limited capsule collections and small production runs.

By choosing not to overproduce, waste is reduced and each piece is created with thought and purpose.

Packaging

All packaging is designed to be low-impact.

Mailers are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and are reusable as well as compostable and curbside recyclable.

Bags are made from 100% FSC certified paper and are recyclable.

Tissue paper contains 30% recycled fibre with 70% new acid-free virgin pulp, and is printed with soy-based ink. 

Printed cards are produced on 100% recycled, uncoated paper using soy-based ink.

Stickers are made with 100% recycled paper, with water-based ink and non toxic adhesive.

Hangtags are made from uncoated paper, with naturally biodegradable cotton string.

Human Commitment

Layla Poet is committed to human-driven design and storytelling.

All online, campaign and social media content is created without the use of artificial intelligence created imagery, video or models.
